Academic Paper from the year 2023 in the subject Health - Public Health, language: English, abstract: The purpose of this systematic review is to assess how well diet and exercise work in the UK for those who have impaired glucose tolerance in order to prevent type 2 diabetes mellitus. The data was collected using a number of search engines, including Ovid, MEDLINE, PubMed, and Scopus. Research was done using PRISMA criteria. A total of 1200 studies were extracted based on the titles and articles. Upon deeper inspection, only nine, nevertheless, match the necessary data on the acceptability, efficacy, and effectiveness of diet and exercise intervention therapy in IGT patients. The main finding that unites all studies is how successful lifestyle changes are at postponing or averting the onset of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). Every study shows how crucial it is to alter one's lifestyle, whether it be through dietary changes, regular exercise, or culturally relevant therapies, in order to reduce the risk of diabetes.
