According to the OECD statistics development aid given to the countries in need accounted for USD 142,6 billion in 2016. And, yet foreign aid remains a very controversial issue and its effectiveness has been highly debatable. The aim of this essay is to explore the reasons behind problematic aspects of development aid as well as to try to find a solution to them.
