Now, although this petition is endorsed Le Roy s'advisera, it is not to be believed that the King's commissioners had to disgorge what they had by his orders conveyed to his two colleges, and it is certain that King's College still retained possession of the wardrobe, though threat ened with invasion by the duke's creditors. It appears from this petition, that Duke Humphrey had not died intestate, as was supposed when the king granted the administration of his property, to the com missioners here mentioned, by the letters patent, which I have already cited from Rymer's Fmdera.
