Jane Everwood, Girl of questionable fortune. Seemingly abandoned by her mother and left to try and survive in the clutches of the evil blob of meat that is her father, Life did not deal her an easy hand. She managed to get by with her friends, but between her constantly drunk parent, and the refined but clearly evil thug-friend that her father keeps around, it has been a constant chore. However, this is all about to change in one grandiose day. Whisked away from her life, her planet, and everything she ever knew, she is thrown into a maelstrom of activity, where everyone seems out for number one, even with the most kind of acts. Jane is at the centre of all this activity, however, nobody cares to explain why, exactly, and so she is left to blunder. It becomes obvious that she is meant to do something important, maybe along the lines of 'fight the monster get the girl save the day' but nobody tells her exactly what monster, or which day. And as for getting the girl, well that is an entirely different kettle of fish...
