F we would estimate rightly the value and importance of the Christian Dispensation, we shall not be content to view it merely as a system standing by itself, or connected only with the Mosaic Institutions; it will be neces sary to consider what relation it bore to those religious principles and persuasions, which, before the Gospel was promulgated, were ge nerally current among men.
