HE Research described in this Monograph was carried out under the auspices of the Psychological Laboratory of University College, London, during 1914 and the first half of 1915. The subject of the Research was suggested by Professor C. Spearman, the director of the Laboratory, but the responsibility for the Opinions expressed is my own.
