Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Dissector's Manual of Practical and Surgical Anatomy
The first two American editions of Mr. Wilson's book were published under the supervision of Dr. Goddard, who altered the arrangement of the English work, so as to agree with the mode of dissection usually adopted in Ame rica. In the English school (as Dr. Goddard observes), the dissector generally commences with the extremities, while with us the muscles and viscera of the abdomen claim the students first attention hence it was thought best to arrange the work accordingly.
