FIRST EDITION, portrait frontispiece, a few spots to margins of this and title-page, illustrations to text with some full-page, pp.[ii], 300, [3, ads to endpapers], crown 8vo, original tan cloth, the lettering to the upper board stamped in black and blue, the border design to upper board and backstrip stamped in same with the backstrip lettering in gilt, lean to spine, a small amount of bubbling to cloth at leading edge of both boards, issued without endpapers, contemporary ownership inscription to half-title scored-through (but visible), this gently browned along with rear free endpaper
