Jacob and Harriet quickly leave Switzerland, assume new identities, and relocate frequently in many of the major cities in South America to avert capture. Nearly twenty years later, Fanny, now a mature young woman, seeks help from her best friend and mentor, Brian Bianco, to find her missing parents so that she can reunite her estranged family. Bianco learns that Fanny's stalker is a Neo-Nazi who assumes that Fanny will lead him to her parents and the millions in uncut diamonds Jacob garners regularly in South Africa's diamond mines.
