Publisher's Synopsis

Aptly called "painting with scissors", decoupage is the art of decorating a surface with cut-out paper images. This sourcebook is an archive of colour and black-and-white prints of the most popular decoupage subjects. The book opens with a brief history of decoupage and provides concise instructions for cutting out motifs, colouring black-and-white prints, preparing surfaces, gluing, varnishing and sanding. The heart of the book consists of a collection of prints featuring a range of subjects, including animals, bows and ribbons, cherubs and cupids, flowers, fruits and vegetables, labels, oriental imagery, shells and marine life, sporting images, borders, frames, and background patterns. Most of the prints require simple cutting, a few require intricate cutting, while others can be used whole. The colour pages are printed on one side so that all the images can be used; because they can be photocopied easily, the black-and-white images are printed on both sides.
