Rich cultured Bridin, a town in the mountain kingdom of Thoranophilus, is rocked by the disappearance of forty villagers. Legend and lore become reality as prophecies come true from the "Scrolls of Antiquity." Sharmok, a power hungry sorcerer, has surfaced from the conflicted underworld to wreak havoc above and capture souls, leaching their life force to regain his powers as a wizard, and the ability to manipulate the elements.
