The Chronicle of Jocelin of Brakelond is a historical account written by Jocelin de Brakelond in the 12th century. The book is a first-hand account of the life and times of the monks of Bury St. Edmunds Abbey in Suffolk, England, during the reign of King Henry II. Jocelin was a monk at the abbey and his chronicle provides a detailed insight into the daily life, politics, and religious practices of the monastery. The book covers a period of over 30 years, from the appointment of Abbot Samson in 1182 to the death of Jocelin in 1214.
