Publisher's Synopsis

The ICALEO '86 Symposium on Optical Techniques for Industrial Measurement and Control addresses the growth in industrial measurements in 20 papers divided into four sessions. The first of these sessions concentrates on fiber optic sensors used, for example, to measure temperature, chemical composition, sound field properties, displacement and particle diameters. A second session focuses on the techniques and applications of optical ranging, and on the development of three-dimensional cameras. The third session addresses specific inspiration systems and key components, while the fourth is devoted to precision measurements using holographic, speckle, and other interferometric approaches. Included in this publication as a separate section at the end (11 papers) is the ICALEO '86 Symposium on Optical Information Processing. Optical information processing offers unique potential in terms of high-speed, 3-D interconnections and truly massive parallelism, such as in 3-D graphic displays drives.
