Frank Palmer Speare, President of Northeastern University, was educated in the Boston Public Schools, Chauncy Hall School, Bridgewater State Normal School and Harvard University. Upon graduation, he entered High School principalship. Later, in 1895, he was appointed Director of Education for the Boston Young Men's Christian Association, which position he held until the department was incorporated as Northeastern College in 1916, when he was elected president.
