Publisher's Synopsis
The Broken Image of the title refers to what many people experience as the deconstruction and general fragmentation of our culture in our post-modern age. Pat Collins has been reflecting on the changes of our times and working to integrate them with spirituality. The reflections in this book come in three sections: firstly, psycho-spiritual reflections touch on such areas as intimacy, vioence, envy, boundary violations in ministry etc; secondly, some spiritual reflections touch on popular devotion, reading and praying the scriptures, petitionary prayer, and St Ther?se of Lisieux; the third section contains evangelistic reflections including a Catholic view of who is an evangelist, atheism and the father of lies, charisms and the new evangelism and, finally, preaching in a time of transition.
