Publisher's Synopsis
This volume provides a unique insight into the Javanese view of events from the vantage point of the Central Javanese court of Yogyakarta, a court which experienced British military force at first hand in June 1812 when it was stormed by British-Indian troops. The core of the work is a text edition of a diary chronicle kept by one of the senior Yogyakarta princes from the time of the British attack to the end of the occupation in 1816.
