Volume 6 Book 4 concludes the Shadows of Bridal Veil series. While the setting mainly takes place at a remote firebase, the drama takes us from Texas to Winnipeg and New Brunswick to the remotest parts of the Canadian North. While the protagonists must face Indian River justice, they also mete out their own brand and by the usual uproarious methods, be it in civilization, dreadful string-bog swamps or in the wilds of the Bride River Canyon. Villains and skullduggery abound, but relationships strengthen while battling not only a fully-deserved legal morass, but a horrendous subterranean wildfire. The action never stops, but then neither does the romance and the coming of age, from teens to millennials to folks well beyond mid-life. Another long-ago promise must fulfill, a crooked agent must be stopped and court days kept, with repetitious results that can only be described as 'The Briar Patch Conundrum'.
