In hot weather, when a person is heated, cold water Should only be taken in small quantities at a time. If taken in quantity, prostration is likely to ensue, and if not, it lays the foundation for other troubles. When the body is heated or exhausted, a bath of cold water ought never to be taken. A sponge bath in tepid water will answer until the vigor of 'the body has had time to be restored.
