Publisher's Synopsis
Conn leaves the dull life of his hometown to follow his sister Nialla to the capital city of Kingsboro and the fabulous Blue Temple, a sanctuary where all are welcome to find rest and home, and sex is a sacrament. While the celibate White Priests of the New Faith offer sacred bread and sacred wine, in the Blue Temple, the Priests offer their bodies to other men as the sign of communion with their God. But the Blue Temple is also a refuge for the homeless and the outcasts as well as the questioning. Here Conn meets the black haired and sensitive Derek, Matteo, a rough kid of the streets who thought there was nothing beautiful about him, clever Gabriel, and Cal, as quick with knife and fist as he is with flirtations.
But in the distance a war is brewing, and in the royal palace there is a division between those who side with the Old Religions and those loyal to the New Faith. Magic lies at the heart of all the Blue Rituals, and before long, Conn and the priests of the Blue Temple rub shoulders not only with the men who seek solace in their chambers, but princes, and the mysterious sorcerer Ohean Pendarvis himself.
