Excerpt from The Bond of Sacrifice, Vol. 1: A Biographical Record of All British Officers Who Fell in the Great War
Special volumes are in course of preparation for the Royal Navy and for the Overseas Forces respectively, which it is intended to publish after the conclusion of the war.
The biographies are inserted in alphabetical order: in the case of composite surnames (with or without hyphen) the initial letter of the last name governs their place in the book. Prefixes are treated as part of the surname.
Officers holding permanent commissions in the Royal Marines will be included in the Naval Volume.
