The book summarizes almost 60 years of ornithological records collected by Holme Bird Observatory (HBO), located on the north coast of Norfolk, UK. HBO is one of 20 bird observatories around the coast of Britain and Ireland. The heart of the book is a systematic list giving details of about 350 species recorded by the Observatory, more than 80% of which are accompanied by a black-and-white illustration. An 8-page photographic section illustrates the development of HBO and a small selection of the most memorable birds recorded by the Observatory.
