Publisher's Synopsis
Cryostasis is commonly known to be instantaneous to interplanetary travelers, but for Neiaphi (Knee-aw-fi) it was full of dreams and nightmares. So one would think Neiaphi would be relieved when she woke up, little did she know that her nightmares would come true. Neiaphi's father, a mid-level Official, and a small group from Romota are being sent to the Krill Colonies on a temporary assignment. Unknown to them until underway this will be a one-way trip to stop the uprisings caused by The Society, a group that is determined to control The Great City of Atlantis and the rest of the world along with it. The first problem they encounter is The Society intercepts them with the intent on using them to bring down The Great City. Before they left, Romota if Neiaphi, a 16-year old girl with no extraordinary abilities, would have been told that she alone holds the key to saving the civilization that The Great City has established she would have laughed. She only has to decipher her dreams to unlock the answers. But, they are just dreams; at least that is what Neiaphi thought at first. Now the only option left for the newcomers is to travel across a primitive alien planet, trying to reach a City few have ever been to while staying one-step ahead of The Society and somehow figuring out how to stop them once and for all; the odds seem to be against them. What if Atlantis really had existed? What if it was not the pinnacle of an ancient human society but rather an outpost on an intergalactic penal-planet? What if the very earliest mythologies were not primitive attempts to explain the universe but were deliberate attempts to control the lives and thoughts of a condemned people?
