Publisher's Synopsis
A forgotten skirmish of the American Revolutionary War was fought just outside of present-day Norwood, North Carolina in the sweltering heat of July 21st, 1780. A small but determined force of Patriot militia under the command of Colonel William Lee Davidson launched a surprise attack in the early morning hours against the gathering Tories at Colson's Mill. Though tired by a fast-paced march, and out numbered at least two to one, the Patriots carry the day at this critical moment of the Southern Campaign. The victory will deny the British much needed supplies, men, and intelligence as they advance northward into the heart of the Carolina backcountry.
