Jack Taggart was raised on an Ohio farm {located on Taggart Road}, educated in Ohio public schools, including the Ohio State College of Law. After being graduated from law school he moved to New York City and was hired by White & Case, then the largest New York City Law firm.
After several years he joined the United States Treasury, having first gotten a Masters of Tax Law from New York University, where he later taught for a number of years. He joined a small law firm of 16 lawyers where he spent the rest of his legal career, retiring at age 75 when the firm ad 124 lawyers.
