As an introduction and guide to the world of university presses, this directory is an essential reference and resource for anyone interested in or involved in scholarly publishing. The directory offers detailed information on the publishing programs and personnel of AAUP's member presses. Its many useful features include a convenient subject guide indicating which presses publish in specific disciplines; separate entries for each member press that includes complete address, telephone and fax numbers, and electronic mail; guidelines for submitting manuscripts; suggestions for further reading; and an index of press personnel. The directory also includes informative material on the Association, outlining its structure, staff, by-laws, and requirements for admission. The Association of American University Presses has for sixty years worked to encourage the dissemination of scholarly research and ideas. Currently, the 116 members of the AAUP annually publish more than 9,000 books and 700 periodicals.
