Publisher's Synopsis
Terrain analysis and distributed modelling in hydrology represent an area of research that is growing rapidly. Bringing together the complementary papers from the first two special issues of the journal "Hydrological Processes", this book presents the current state of the art and also anticipates future research directions in the field. New techniques involving simulation visualization software and workstation computer power are considered to be the prerequisite for methodological advances in hydrological processes. The selected papers offer ideas both in the direct application of the newly obtained data and in the use of derived indices to evaluate hydrological, geomorphological and ecological potentials or risks.
