But the theoretical framework can sometimes be perceived as overwhelming by students to such an extent that they may find it hard to get the major element of improvisation, that is the creation of a personal language which must include an appropriate assimilation. Knowing what to do (or not to do) is not enough. - ITA - Spesso i corsi regolari di musica jazz si concentrano sulla teoria, sulla sua applicabilità, trascurando o relegando in secondo piano l'aspetto pratico; talora l'impianto teorico è talmente preponderante, che l'allievo fatica a cogliere l'elemento fondamentale dell'improvvisazione ovvero la creazione di un linguaggio personale, che, per essere tale, deve prevedere una adeguata assimilazione. Sapere cosa fare (e cosa non fare) non è sufficiente.
