Telecommunications laws provide the tools for the privatization of state-owned telecommunications enterprises, for the liberalization of the provision of telecommunications networks, services and terminal equipment, for the increasing pan-European harmonization of the regulatory framework, and for the merging of telecommunication and media applications, leading to "multimedia" services.;The telecommunications laws in the European Union, together with the dramatic developments in Central and Eastern Europe, have changed steadily. This work contains contributions from the European Telecommunications Law Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie.
