This is a knitting book and story book combined. Read your children the story of a teddy bear called Jed in search of the rainbow. Then, using readily available yarn, knit one or more of Jed's adventures - 16 in all.;There are two basic jumper shapes - crew and boat neck - in sizes to fit boys and girls aged two to nine. Full making up instructions, including charted designs and suggestions for adding accessories are given. The sweater designs each have a separate pattern chart which either precede or follow the story. A "Bear Essential" box gives specific instructions for each design: the colours used in ribs, sleeves, neckband and back, notes on special embroidery; the yarns used, plus a chart giving numbers of balls for the different sizes; and a selection of appropriate buttons.
