Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Tables of Sines, Cosines, Tangents, Cosecants, Secants and Cotangents of Real and Complex Hyperbolic Angles
Hyperbolic functions are of great importance in the engineer ing theory of alternating-current lines; because they enable short and simple formulas to replace long, tedious and unwieldy computations. Nevertheless, the use of vector hyperbolic func tions in relation to telegraphic, telephonic, or power-transmission circuits has been retarded by the absence of tables of such functions.* Most of the engineer's formulas of circular trigono metry, in relation to surveying, are brief and easily remem bered; but in the absence of the customary tables of circular sines, cosines and tangents, they would have little utility.
