In this block, you will learn about the fundamental components of computers and explore the application of computers in three diverse products: a set of kitchen scales, a digital camera and a personal computer. You will discover how weights, colours, text, sounds and so on can be represented inside a computer. When a computer is performing a task, such as translating the key press on a keyboard of a personal computer into a letter displayed on the monitor, it works through a predetermined set of steps. You will learn how to generate and document the predetermined steps needed to carry out some simple tasks using a computer.
