The potential for developing non-natural chiral macromolecular systems with functional specificities approaching biological systems is fascinating. In order to develop intricate macromolecular chiral structures with biofunctional propeties, it will be necessary for the synthetic chemist to combine secondary chiral structures into dissymmetric tertiary structures with specificities approaching those of enzymes.
