Commit thoroughly to memory the twenty-eight signs contained in the Alphabet on page 9, with the list of Popular Words Abbreviated on page II. Read carefully the rules which govern the system, and practise writing the exercises till you gain a speed of 120 words a minute. Exercise great care in forming each character its proper length. Pages 8. 9, and 11 meet the requirements of the whole English Language. Do not attempt to write rapidly till you have them at your finger ends.
