Publisher's Synopsis
The crusty Captain of a small freighter and her lifelong Ericusian crew member enjoy their time hauling freight among the systems of the galaxy. Their needs are simple. All they want are jobs to pay for fuel, supplies, and a smooth jump to the next star system. But sharks are out there. Pirates armed with cannons and missiles covet Callie's boxy little ship. Worse yet, illegible contracts and impossible conditions, the weapons of unscrupulous lawyers and customers also threaten to steal their livelihood. Good freight runs don't seem to be too much to ask. So, why does saving the Universe keep getting in the way?
