The Old, as a rule, bear heat much better than cold. The hot-water bag will, usually, be more comforting to them than the ice coil.

Examine every swelling for pulsation. In the hurry Of out-patient practice it has occurred that an aneurism has been incised because it was mis taken for an abscess.
