Excerpt from Surface Geology and Agricultural Conditions of the Southern Peninsula of Michigan: With a Chapter on Climate
In the Annual Report of the Michigan Geological Survey for 1907, there was published a large scale colored map of the surf face or soil formations of the Southern Peninsula of Michigan. This map is accompanied bv an explanatory text by Dr. A. C. Lane. This text is mainly an interpretation of the map. The map and text were published with the end in view of setting forth in a manner easily comprehended, an orderly narrative of the causes and effects of the several continental glaciations of the Pleistocene or glacial period (great Ice Age) with detailed ap plication to the Southern Peninsula of Michigan.
