As Ryan heads back to Mindart he is tormented by the results of what happened last year. What happened to the horribly injured Carol? Will he ever see his alien... uh friend Taanna again?
Because of the experiences last year, Ryan is only allowed to visit another planet for one day of the week-long camping trip. It is a peaceful old-fashioned planet. However, no peace lasts forever. When they arrive the resulting kerfuffle put Ryan on the planet completely alone.
He finds himself without hope in a hostile world that allows slavery. It quickly becomes obvious that no one is going to save him. How can he free himself, get a ship and find his way home?
Oh, and what should he do with his new pet and these crazy girls? He certainly can't take them home!
