The current summary cause procedure was introduced in 1976 but, until this publication, has not been the subject of a book in its own right.Practitioners, however, often gain their experience of and confidence in court work in the summary cause courts and, although the low pecuniary limits of the action might suggest otherwise, the legal issues involved in summary cause actions are often significant. The content and layout of this new text follow the natural chronology of the procedure and of the summary cause rules.
