Strawalde aka Jurgen Bottcher (born 1931) is a creative volcano: visual artist and multiply awarded director, "jazz" painter and passionate letter writer, erstwhile adult education teacher of now famous Dresden painters. His paintings, drawings, overpaintings, collages, and films take their shape in a sensuous process of seeking and dancing which the artist himself experiences as an adventure. The Municipal Gallery of Dresden presents the work of this "universal artist"-at the exact place where he once began his creative process as a student and lecturer.
