Publisher's Synopsis
This second book, Stepping Into The Light, the "Light" of family, nature and of course that "drum beat" that resides in us all, which also includes having faith in one's self. This collection of poetry is a continuation of sorts, but takes us further from the grief and sadness of personal losses and leads us more towards the strength of holding on to the "Light" that shines inside each of us whether it is a flicker or a raging flame. It's that thing, that essence that directs us and calls to us to stay the course no matter how difficult, no matter how others feel or think of us. It is about our own "Drum Beat" that compels us to continue to seek that which is true to who we are, and what may be our own destiny. Thus, in this second book, I've included another collage of poetry that lets us contemplate our own judgments, perceptions and even prejudices of human dignity, as each of us travels toward our own life journey. Through various poems we "Step" into thoughts about the world or people around us. We are all a product of our environment and our experiences play an irreversible part of our own personal development. From the people we share our lives with, family, friends, to the strangers we meet on the street. The loud bustling life of the inner cities, to the quite ease of the countryside, we become filters sifting through it all. Though some impressions are imprinted deeper than others, all have an effect on the person we've become. Positive, negative, virtually, everything finds a way of touching who we are in one way, shape or another, and especially when we go through life with open eyes.
