Most pharmacy students are taught statistics but very few progress to become proficient at using statistics for evaluating data. This book has been written to help students with this difficult subject. A more holistic approach than is normal in statistics textbooks has been adopted, with parametric and non–parametric tests being discussed side by side. The major problem students find in choosing an appropriate test is tackled by providing a test selection flow–chart in each chapter.
In line with the increased emphasis on estimation, an extensive discussion of confidence intervals and sample size is included. Survival analysis is also introduced because of its growing importance in the pharmaceutical sciences.
