Mike Walton is captain of the spaceship Starduster 1993T, a starfighter/destroyer-class ship with a computer onboard that can do almost anything. It is unmatched in the ability to handle any part of the operation of the ship. It was the very best and most intelligent computer ever designed. He has to try to free his uncle Frank Naggil from a Princedom Melba prison. Johnson, who had been a star marine, is his partner. Walton has a book that his uncle left him. The only other thing that has scrawling like those in the book is an old throne of the Cramians, which has magical properties and can transport a person to different places. They are able to figure out the book and use the throne to send the emperor back in time. The person that eliminates the standing emperor has to take over his place.
