The volume combines the latest research results on the expansion of St. Stephen's Church in Vienna initiated by Rudolf IV with regard to his burial place, which were discussed at an interdisciplinary conference. In addition to a presentation of the building chronology based on the written sources, a profound art-historical classification of the hall choir with its artistically and iconographically extraordinary building sculpture, observations on the construction at the striking intersection of the nave and the south tower are presented. The anthology focuses on extensive analyzes of the two art-historical important portals of the prince and the Rudolfskenotaph. A large-scale construction company must have been behind the implementation of the ambitious ducal project. For the craftsmen and specialists working on the construction site on behalf of Duke Rudolf IV, the term ducal workshop was established by research in the 20th century.
