Publisher's Synopsis
"SSADM In View" is a hypertext version of the "SSADM Version 4 Reference Manual", which is the standard method for IT projects in government and widely used in the private sector. Using the latest Windows technology "SSADM In View" provides the entire content of the Reference manual in electronic form for the PC user.;Hypertext is an approach to Information management that allows items of information to be connected using associateive links.;For the user, hypertext is a fast and more natural way of exploring large bodies of text. The user sees a collection of windows or "frames" containing text and graphics, and points with a mouse at phrases or pictures of interest. If these are "hot" areas of frame they are linked to another frame which is instantly displayed.;"SSADM In View" should benefit the user through: speed - the user can go directly to a point of interest and then follow cross references at the click of a button; compactness - there is no need for a bulky manual on the desk or in the briefcase. "SSADM In View" can be run on an existing PC, or if required, from a Laptop or Portable PC; flexibility - a great strength of SSADM is the way in which each stage in the systems development process complements the other. Hypertext provides greater flexibility in conveying the inter-relationships of the stages to the user; multi-display - several windows can be opened simultaneously onto different parts of the manual, enabling the user to understand cross references between different parts of the method.;"SSADM In View" requires a 386 PC running Windows 3 to operate with 5 megabytes of space required on the destination hard disk. In addition a colour display is also preferable.
