Publisher's Synopsis
This volume deals with language problems associated with migration relationships: They are examined both from the perspective of the relevant disciplines and in the various dimensions of this field, in particular multilingualism and language development for written practice. The three parts of the volume clarify the terms in the pre-theoretical field and in non-linguistic disciplines (Political science, history, law) and the systematic foundations of language reflection. The consequences of this clarification with regard to political questions (integration), practical questions of pedagogy (intercultural pedagogy) as well as further linguistic and didactic research are also explained. The interdisciplinary aspect of the work reflects Maas' participation in the Research Training Group Migration in Modern Europe by IMIS and the results of research projects on Moroccan migrant children.
