Publisher's Synopsis

1976, and in the punk rock explosion Billy Wrose forms a band to beat the system with Kirk St John, an almost mystical figure from the shadowy world of catering. Together they go out to set the world on fire, but only manage to singe a Triumph Vitesse. Going their separate ways, due in part to a disastrous American tour, but mainly because Kirk has sex with Billy's girlfriend, their feud is set to continue over the next twenty years. Kirk becomes a renowned chef, restaurateur and finally TV celebrity, a friend of the rich and famous. Billy achieves the dizzy heights of nursing assistant (temporary) in an old people's home. In the final confrontation between good and evil this is a choice between saucepans and bedpans. Does Billy ever get his revenge? And most of all, can an ex-punk rocker ever regain his anarchic soul? In an age where the Sex Pistols can reform, anything is possible.
