By honorable to the good sense and patriotism of our people, that seeing that the result of the policy recommended would be to conquer Mexico, to be held as a subject province, or incorporated in this Union, they have raised a nearly unanimous voice of reprobation against it, in despite of the temptation held out to their pride, ambition, and cupidity, by the advocates cf a vigorous prosecution of the war.
