Publisher's Synopsis
This is the second volume of this well-established series, formerly entitled Advances in Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy, to be devoted to a single theme. The scope of the series has been widened beyond the confines of infrared and Raman spectroscopy, while at the same time each volume now focuses down to a single well-defined theme of great current interest. The spectroscopy of inorganic-based materials is one such area of applied spectroscopy; the present volume covers many aspects of the spectroscopy of groups I and II compounds and of minerals, and embraces topics such as chemisorption and catalysis at metal, oxide, semiconductor, zeolite and clay mineral surfaces, the study of metal-metal bonded complexes, and of a wide range of molecules of bioinorganic interest. In addition to infrared and Raman spectroscopy, detailed sections and/or chapters on nuclear quadrupole coupling, time-resolved spectroscopy, electron spin resonance and photoelectron spectroscopy are included.
