She founded Word Thursdays in 1992 which drew local poets and writers in a resurgence in writing and reading out loud for many in Delaware and Otsego counties, in upstate New York. Speaking The Words, a tour of poets and writers, grew out of these meetings. This anthology is the first publication by Word Thursdays/Bright Hill Press. Although no book can capture the vitality of the word given voice, this brief collection captures the unique qualities of the 1993 and 1994 Speaking the Words programs.
