Publisher's Synopsis
Celilo Falls was submerged in 1957 by the construction of the Dalles Dam, on the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest. Celilo Falls had been a sacred fishing grounds and cultural center for multiple Native American tribes for over 10,000 years. Celilo Falls was lost in a matter of hours once the dam was sealed. How did a couple of idealistic engineers working for the Bonneville Power Administration conspire to bring Celilo Falls back - if only for a few hours - to honor a culture and legacy that they learned had true meaning also in their lives?
